Future Fibres offer a full 24 Month Superyacht Warranty, based on the following Service Programme.
Installation
- Supervision of rig dressing and stepping by Future Fibres Technical Director
- Crew training in care, inspection and maintenance of rigging
- Visual inspection of all cables and fittings after initial sea trials
- Rig Log completed with detailed notes and full photographic record from the Future Fibres Technical Director
Six month initial inspection check-over
- Complete inspection of rigging and all rigging components by a Future Fibres technician
- Carry out necessary service work with improvements as appropriate, including extra chafe protection where necessary
- Update of the Rig Log and photographic record
Annual or 15,000 miles inspection and service
- A complete inspection of rigging and all rigging components by a Future Fibres technician
- Update of the photographic record
- Carry out necessary service work with improvements as appropriate, including extra chafe protection where necessary
- A complete clean and polish of all Future Fibres supplied metalwork and components, in situ, followed by a comprehensive visual inspection. (Note: Future Fibres recommends all metalwork and components are removed from the rig for a complete strip, clean and visual inspection every second year.) Should any problems be noted during the inspection, advice will be given on any necessary remedial action
- Update of the Rig Log and photographic record
- Note: During the first annual service, all forestays and foils will be removed and the forestay bearings checked for movement and wear on the cable
Four years or 60,000 miles inspection and service
- Pre-service evaluation of installed rigging to identify service work required
- De-stepping of rig, removal of cables for testing at Future Fibres test facility
- After four years Future Fibres’ supplied metalwork and rigging components should be packaged and returned to Future Fibres. They will be fully stripped and cleaned and all parts sent away for non-destructive testing (NDT - this will either be dye penetrative testing, ultrasound or x-ray.)
- All cables tested for evaluation and to ensure compliance with original or updated specification. Decision made on the replacement of diagonals and forestay
- Refurbishment of cables to cover standard service protocol and recommendations made in the annual inspections
- Update of the Rig Log and photographic record
Eight years or 120,000 miles inspection and service
- Pre-service evaluation of installed rigging, to identify service work required
- De-stepping of rig, removal of cables for testing at Future Fibres test facility
- All Future Fibres supplied metalwork and rigging components should be returned to Future Fibres to be fully stripped and cleaned. All metalwork sent away for NDT with a view to replacing any damaged or worn parts
- All cables tested for evaluation to ensure compliance with original or updated specification. Decisions made on the replacement of verticals, diagonals and forestay
- Refurbishment of cables to cover standard service protocol and recommendations made in the annual inspections
- Update of the Rig Log and photographic record
Through our annual rig inspections we provide a fully documented cable history. This is verified at points in the schedule with in-house cable testing which allows us to make considered decisions on cable replacement based on the unique conditions experienced by the yacht.
